Responsible Cannabis Framework

The Global Cannabis Partnerships is currently collaborating with members to develop a Responsible Cannabis Framework (RCF), which will act as a roadmap for members to help them go beyond what is compliant and has the potential to set an example for corporate social responsibility within the cannabis industry and beyond.

The RCF will outline common principles related to:

  • The promotion of legal and responsible use
  • Minimizing negative environmental impacts
  • Reinforcing the importance of good corporate governance

Once completed, the RCF will also include:

  • Guidelines and metrics for key areas, such as age, safety, advertising, production, health/treatment, employee and consumer education, distribution, retail, traceability, ethics, economic contribution, environment and continuous improvement
  • Accreditation categories, from core to independent third-party monitoring and reporting
  • Individual and aggregated industry reporting

A draft of the Responsible Cannabis Framework was completed and approved by GCP members and is expected to be publicly announced in June 2019.
